Well, I made it back. It was a long journey home.
After all the photos I took between 2006 and 2008, I didn't really feel like there was much left to photograph. This is a pretty thorough sampling of the few pictures I did take... Enjoy.
An old Naxi woman making her way down the street. Notice the shoes drying on the step. People do their laundry in basins outside their storefronts when the sun is out in the afternoon. They routinely wash their shoes too.
Here's the 'good noodle shop.' It's packed in there all day every day.
This warning sign was in the bathroom at my hotel. Actually, they made a good effort with the translation. The third character means "land" or "ground" or "floor." The last character means "slide" or "slip" or "fall."
The English on this one is pretty good. I liked this sign because of the graphic representation of a tears and blood. This was by the doors on the bus.
Maybe Mum and Dad have been pronouncing it right after all...
Even with these nice signs, more often than not, you still find muddy footprints on the toilet seats.
