Growing the Family

Here are a few photos of some new additions at the homestead. Ezra was driving home the other day and saw a sign that said "Chickens For Sale." Convenient, since one of our hens "died" late last week. To replace her, we ended up with four chicks, two baby turkeys, and a duck. Yesterday, we discovered the "dead" hen was just taking a vacation after her illness.

Two turkeys and a chicken.

The new poultry assortment.

Duckie's new girlfriend, Daisy. She's very pretty. She disappeared the first night, but we were relieved to hear her quacking in the yard the next morning.

Animal Train. Duckie is still more or less loyal to Tulip. And with Daisy around, he leaves the chickens alone.

Busy bees.

I'm not sure that I can keep up with all of this...Is there a chart?
Tulip and Duckie are vague to me, and now, who is Ezra?

Nice family!! It's obvious that you got something out of your agricultural background, but of course Senegal must get the credit for your animal dealings.

I think it's Ezra's influence more than mine. He brought home all of these animals. I'm glad he did. They're a lot of fun.

Those ducks sure are cute. Amazing how the just get along...not like cats (as you know from experience).

It's a lovely little homestead--you could (and should) write a book about this experience sometime in the future. Start keeping notes, and paragraphs and pages. And really, I DO know who Ezra is.

Seriously--record. Write. Note. Don't let these moments and events fade. You kids' enviable years could become a best seller--or at very least a journal for your children.

I agree with Uncle Q...you must keep a journal of the experiences the two of you have had. What a neat biography for your offspring to cherish.

You should have done the same! Too often, we all tend to think our lives are uninteresting. But your kids (eventually) appreciate the stories. It's not to late, Mum. Write a book! Same to you, Uncle Q.
